«Хочу вчитися», підсумки сезону (english version below)

Ось і закінчився навчальний рік, а з ним і підбиваємо підсумки проєкту «Хочу вчитися», який передбачає додаткові заняття з репетиторами зі шкільних предметів для вихованців дитячих будинків сімейного типу.

В цьому сезоні участь у проєкті брали 9 ДБСТ  з різних куточків України. Діти займалися з різних предметів (українська мова, англійська, математика, історія). Особливо зосереджували увагу на дітях, які тільки потрапили в ДБСТ та дітях, які готуються до складання НМТ та вступу в університети та коледжі.

У вересні був зафіксований рівень знань кожного, а в червні діти були протестовані ще раз. Порівняння першого зрізу та другого показали підвищення рівня майже у кожного учасника на 1-2 бали.

Репетитор, опираючись на свій досвід та знання, може виявити  слабкі місця дитини та допомогти подолати їх. Це сприяє не тільки покращенню оцінок та рівню знань, але й підвищує самооцінку та мотивацію до навчання.  Але й це не саме головне, за думкою батьків вихователей головна користь проєкту, те, що займаючись зі спеціалістом, а не з мамою чи батьком не руйнується тоненька ниточка щойно встановленого соціального контакту між дитиною та новими батьками. Наприклад, в ДБСТ Ведернікових у січні були влаштовані нові діти, які пережили трагедію у своїй біологічній родині. Мама Валентина спрямувала всі свої зусилля на встановлення контакту з дівчатками. Якби їй прийшлося ще підтягувати їх по шкільній програмі, то процес адаптації не пройшов би так рівно та гладко, адже в будь-якому випадку мама була б змушена десь давити на дівчат, наполягати на виконанні завдань. Зараз дівчатка повністю влилися в нову родину, мають успіхи та впевнено крокують по життю.

Другий приклад. На початку 2023 року в ДБСТ Жеребченко також були влаштовані нові діти. Так само діти мали психологічну травму та відставання у розвитку. У Ростика, учня 4 класу, завдяки заняттям з репетитором пропав страх перед вчителем, він повірив у себе та зрозумів, що може навчатися.   Влад, якому 6 років, не розмовляв, мав рівень розвитку дворічної дитини. Як виключення, благодійником нашого проєкту було прийнято рішення допомогти дитині у підготовці до школи. Результати приголомшливі. Зараз Влад рахує, читає, а, саме головне, що у нього пропав страх говорити. Він почав спілкуватися з іншими, навчився висловлювати свої почуття. За словами мами Олени – це безцінно.  

Хочемо подякувати благодійникам Юрію та Христині, які вже третій рік поспіль підтримують цей проєкт. Саме завдяки їх допомозі маємо такі результати та величезні слова подяки від батьків вихователей. Дякуємо, та чекаємо початку наступного сезону 2024/2025 року.

“I want to study”, the results of the season

The school year has come to an end, and with it, we are summing up the results of the “I Want to Study” project, aimed at providing additional lessons with tutors in school subjects for children from family-type children’s homes.

This season, 9 FTOs from different parts of Ukraine took part in the project. The children were taught various subjects (Ukrainian, English, mathematics, history). The focus was on children who had just entered the FTO and children preparing to take the NMT and enter universities and colleges.

In September, the children’s level of knowledge was recorded, and in June they were tested again. Comparisons of the first and second tests showed that nearly every participant’s score improved by 1-2 points.

The tutor, based on his or her experience and knowledge, can identify the child’s weaknesses and help them overcome them. This not only improves grades and knowledge, but also increases self-confidence and motivation to study.  But that’s not the most important thing: according to the parents, the main benefit of the project is that working with a specialist rather than with a mother or father does not break the thin line of social contact that has just been established between the child and the new parents. For example, in January, the Vedernikovs’ children were placed in a new foster home for children who had experienced a tragedy in their biological family. Valentina’s mother directed all her efforts to establish contact with the girls. If she had to catch them up on the school curriculum, the adaptation process would not have gone as smoothly as it did, because in any case, the mother would have had to put pressure on the girls somewhere, insisting on completing tasks. Now the girls have fully integrated into their new family, are making progress and are confidently moving through life.

Another example. At the beginning of 2023, new children were also placed in the Zherebchenko Children’s Home. The children also had psychological trauma and mental retardation. Rostik, a 4th grade student, lost his fear of the teacher thanks to tutoring, believed in himself and realised that he could study.   Vlad, who is 6 years old, did not speak and had the level of a two-year-old child. As an exception, the benefactor of our project decided to help the child prepare for school. The results are amazing. Now Vlad is counting, reading, and, most importantly, he has lost his fear of speaking. He started communicating with others and learned to express his feelings. According to his mother Elena, this is priceless. 

We would like to thank the benefactors Yuriy and Khrystyna, who have been supporting this project for three years in a row. It is thanks to their help that we have such results and huge words of gratitude from the parents of the tutors. We are looking forward to the start of the next season 2024/2025.
