Our defenders

Detdom.info maintains contact with at least 20 young men who are currently serving in military units involved in active combat operations. Some of them hold officer ranks or are students at higher military education institutions. These are graduates of orphanages, children’s homes, family-type orphanages (FTOs), and foster families. Young men who have the status of orphans or children deprived of parental care up to the age of 23 may be exempt from military service, but real-life circumstances — for which most are unprepared—lead them to serve in the military, where they find themselves in conditions similar to those they experienced in institutional care.

I want to help
Need help

Project goal:

The “Our Defenders” project aims to support young men who are former residents of institutional care facilities and professional families currently serving in the military, as well as their families and loved ones.

I want to help
Within the project, we provide support to servicemen and their families, including:
  • Financial, material, and psychological assistance
  • Support with medical treatment and rehabilitation
  • Other assistance upon request

The project focuses primarily on an individual approach and maintaining contact with each young man, especially those who are in hospitals and require ongoing support. Increasingly, these young men need psychological assistance, legal consultations, communication, and moral support. For many of them, the volunteers of detdom.info are the only close people they have, as they have no other family.
